Black Stars striker Emmanuel Okyere Boateng returned to where it all began and made a donation of assorted drinks, footballs, a set of jersey to his juvenile club, De Gunners FC.

De Gunners FC, formed in 1999 metamorphosed into its current name from Leeds United.

Boateng started his young career as a defender and spent most of his formative years at DE GUNNERS FC etching his name as a “No nonsense” centre back.

He later moved to another juvenile side , Darkuman based Charity Stars FC where he was transformed into an attacking player.

Boateng’s career saw a supersonic rise as a result and that capped an U17 and U20 call ups between 2013 and 2015

His exploits with the national team saw him play for two Portuguese sides Rio Ave and Moreirense in a space of two years.

Boateng’s quest for success did not stop him from working hard and was soon snapped up by Spanish La Liga side, Levante for the 2017-19 season.

His moment of crowning came when he bagged a hat-trick against giants Barcelona in a La Liga game.

Offers began to pour in after the “Barcelona massacre” but the 23-year-old opted for a life changing deal with Chinese club Daliang Yifang.

The journey has been smooth so far from an initial slow start.

Nanka Bruce as he is affectionately called due his “no nonsense” defensive style, decided to give back to a system that nurtured his talent.

In an exclusive interview with WEEKLYSPORTSGH.COM, he was happy to be back home.

“ It is always nice to comeback and play with those I started with.”

“It is always good to remember where you came from and at least give back something small.”He told Weeklysportsgh.com.

Boateng’s team mates are Samuel Pimpong who plays for Premier League side Dreams FC and Francis McCarthy who last season played for Division One side SP Mirren.
