There is massive anxiety in the Black Stars camp as Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah announces his final 23-man squad today at the team's camping base in Dubai.

The gaffer must omit five players from his provisional 28-man squad and doesn't look like an easy job for the Ghanaian.

Coach Appiah mst choose between FC Porto striker Abdul Majeed Waris and Crystal Palace frontman Jordan Ayew.

GHANAsoccernet.com reported on Monday morning that the former Ghana international has settled on Ayew as he leaves out Waris, who spent the last season on loan at FC Nantes.

New York FC's Ebenezer Ofori, Asante Kotoko striker Abdul Fatawu, Hearts of Oak defender Mohammed Alhassan and Numancia ace Yaw Yeboah will be axed from the team.

Iconic striker Asamoah Gyan will keep his place in the team despite his public outburst against the coach for stripping of the captaincy.

Coach Kwesi Appiah appears to have a fair idea of the kind of players he need to end the country's long wait for an African crown.

The four-time African champions are housed in group F alongside Cameroon, Guinea-Bissau and Benin.

The team will kick start their campaign against Benin on June 25 at the Ismail Sports Stadium.
