Accra Hearts of Oak played one of their best games in the ongoing NC Special Competition after they posted an emphatic 4-0 win over troublesome and recent rivals WAFA on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Phobians having beaten Inter Allies in their last game at the Tema Stadium, went ahead to wallop the Academy boys with their entertaining and thrilling football.

Wafa, despite their impressive form in the competition, were completely dispatched by the Phobians attacking machinery lead by Joseph Esso.

Youngster Mitchelle Sarpong who scored Hearts of Oak’s second goal in their win over Inter Allies scored a top-notch goal to put the Phobians in front before Captain Abdul Mohammed Fatawu’s sumptuous header gave the hosts a 2-0 lead to the delight of the fan who thronged the stadium.

With the Sogakope based Academy side struggling to counter Kim Grant side’s dominance, high-flying Manaf Gumah Umar excellently slotted in a long cross to give register the third goal for Hearts of Oak against a side they have struggled to beat recently in the Ghanaian Premier League.

Two graduates from the youth side Auroras Michelle Sarpong and Manaf Umar were all on the score sheet as the Phobians registered their biggest win in the competition.

Elmina Sharks recorded the heaviest win in the competition when they walloped Dreams FC 5-1 at the Nduom Stadium.

Coach Kim Grant had to replace injured William Denkyi with Raddy Ovouka with Kofi Kordzi and Kwadwo Obeng Jnr coming on for Mitchelle Sarpong and Manaf Gumah respectively.

Kim Grant’s tactical substitution brilliantly paid off when striker Kofi Kordzi who scored in the Hearts’ 2-0 win over Inter Allies last week grabbed the fourth goal of the day to seal convincing victory for the Ghanaian giants.
