Black Stars and Crystal Palace striker Jordan Ayew takes his turn on Sports Check with Ghanaweb Sports Editor, Daniel Oduro.

At only 27 years old, Jordan Ayew has already played nine years for the senior national team, the Black Stars.

This year, unless something catastrophic happens, he will be playing in his fourth Africa Cup of Nations for Ghana.

And with the ever-reliable Asamoah Gyan entering the twilight of his career, Jordan Ayew knows a lot will be expected of him as Ghana attempts to win a first AFCON title in 37 years.

The youngest son of the legendary Abedi Pele has had a difficult season with Crystal Palace, a club he joined on loan from relegated Swansea.

The goals have dried up for him and he has endured a tumultuous time with some of the fans who are eager to see his back.

Jordan is not oblivious of this fact, but he is optimistic that he can turn his season around and help his club in the final weeks of the English Premier League.

He has also set for himself an ambitious task of making a huge impression at the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

In his own words, Jordan says “the AFCON is my main focus this year, I have been thinking about it for about a year and I think if we remain united we can win it.”

On a lighter side, Jordan reveals the funniest and weirdest players in the Black Stars. He also picks his favourite roommate and the flashiest player in the national team.

He talks about how being a father has made him more grounded and whether or not his parents keep him on a short leash like it has been suggested in the media.
