CAF CC: Akonnor calls on media to mitigate harsh criticism on Kotoko players

Despite his side’s overwhelming victory over Nkana FC, C.K. Akonnor has called on the media to tone down on his players with harsh criticisms.

Akonnor has revealed that his players are mostly affected by the harsh criticism vented on them.

The coach implores that, some of the criticism was personal and questioned how some people see the game.

“It is worrying how some people see the game. I am not worried about the criticisms but if it gets personal, then its a problem.

“Sometimes it gets too harsh on the players and this is about the difficult moment I have had in my career trying to psyche up the players for this game”, he told the media after their 3-0 win over Nkana.

“Sometimes we go through a lot before games. The players listen and it affects them. The players need their support, not harsh criticism,” he added.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko is now second on the table with six points from four games.
