U20 AFCON: Senegal humiliate Burkina to seal top spot in Group B

Senegal beat Burkina Faso by 5-1 to qualify to the semi-finals of the African U20 Championship in Niger.

In a game The Young Lions of Terrenga have already qualified to the next stage, coach Youssouph Dabo paraded his strongest squad to face his West African counterparts.

It didn’t take long before Amadou Ndiaye broke the deadlock for Senegal in the 8th minutes.

Burkina Faso responded in the 34th through Fessal Tapsoba as he drew them level.

It took the Senegalese only a minute to restore their lead through Samba Diallo in the 35th minutes.

Amadou Ndiaye got his brace just on the stroke of half time to make it 3-1 for Senegal.

Senegal came in the second half looking to add to their lead.

Youssouph Mamadou Badji on the 50th minute got the fourth for Senegal with a powerful strike.

Ousseynou Niang wrapped up Senegal onslaught in the 90th by adding the fifth to make 5-1.

Senegal top the group with 9 points from 3 games, with Mali coming second with 6 points after beating Ghana’s 1-0 in the other group fixture.
