Shut down Prampram Sports Centre or face our wrath - Sports Journalists to Minister

Two sports journalists and regular panelists on Rainbow Radio’s Total Review Sports Show, Adam Seidu and Cecil Nii Teiko Tagoe have given the Sports Ministry as well as the Ghana Football Association's Normalisation Committee, a week ultimatum to shut down the Prampram Sports Centre due to its deplorable state.

The two journalists who appeared on the show Sunday December 16, 2018, lamented the deplorable nature of the facility and called on authorities to shut it down with immediate effect and renovate the place or face their wrath.

Adamu Seidu specifically disclosed that, trainees at the facility are being accommodated under unhygienic conditions.

Rodents, cockroaches, bud bugs and mosquitoes he stressed have taken over the facility; a situation he noted poses a threat to the trainees.

The mattresses the sports trainees’ sleep on is not the best and infested with bedbugs, mosquitoes are having a bite on them and cockroaches are also having a free time at the facility. I am giving authorities a week ultimatum to shutdown the facility of face our wrath.’’

Supporting his colleague, Cecill Nii Teiko Tagoe said, the refusal to shutdown the facility will lead to a massive demonstration.

According to him, the facility should be renovated to serve the purpose it was constructed for.

He wondered why a country like Ghana would allow our sports men and women to be kept under such inhuman conditions.
