Michael Osei calls for ample time for Normalization Committee

Former Asante Kotoko head coach, Michael Osei, has urged Ghana football stakeholders to give the Normalisation Committee ample time to complete what he termed as a “difficult assignment” and ensure sanity in the local game.

Earlier this year, FIFA appointed the Normalisation Committee to help bring Ghana football to normalcy after Investigative journalist, Anas Aremayaw Anas’ Number 12 video on bribery and corruption in Ghana Football.

The four-member committee is expected to review the GFA Statutes, and conduct fresh elections for the Executive Committee and Presidency of the Association and also do a forensic audit of the GFA accounts.

However, according to the Black Meteors assistant coach, he sometimes sympathises with the four-member committee, looking at the job Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) has assigned them to perform for a period of six months.

“I entreat everyone to be patient with the Normalisation Committee. The work is a difficult task and it will take some time for the committee to complete it," he told Graphic Sports.

"I believe the six months it too short. Ghana football went bad so the committee needs more time to be able to address the issues and make things better”.

However, the former Asante Kotoko player and coach advised the Normalisation Committee to speed up its work to avoid unnecessary pressure.

“I entreat them (Normalisation Committee) to work faster to avoid being pressured by the public, which may cause them to lose focus in their line of work”.
