Ghanaian youngster Edward Opoku has expressed satisfaction over his debut Major League Soccer season with Columbus Crew.

The 22 year old had a breakthrough season in 2018 for the Black and Gold's after making his senior debut against Orlando City, going on to make more appearances in the just ended season.

Opoku, who is yet to become a regular for Columbus Crew believes the experience from the campaign will propel him to higher heights next season, where he is convinced of becoming a starter.

"Overall it was a good season for me! Although it wasn't an ideal with the amount of minutes I played but it was a first season as a pro and I'm happy with the growth both on and off the field. I look forward to next season with the same mindset, keep working hard with my head down and hopefully more time!," he exclusively told GHANASoccernet.com.

The Konongo born attacker's form in the campaign saw his earn nomination for the club's "Rookie of Year", which was won by Luis Argurdo.

Columbus Crew reached the semis of the Eastern Conference finals losing to the New York Red Bulls in a two legged game.
