Black Queens captain elated with Australia switch

Black Queens skipper, Elizabeth Addo says she is eager to succeed at her new club New Western Sydney Wanderes in Australia.

The 25-year-old will be at the Westfield W-League side after completing a loan deal from American Club Seattle Reign.

Addo who has played 25 games for Ghana’s female national team, Black Queens, has already set sights on making huge impact at her new club.

“I am excited to be joining the Western Sydney Wanderers and playing in the Westfield W-League this season,” the former Black Maidens and Princesses captain told wswanderersfc.com.au.

“I know the club is one of the most supported clubs in Australia and I am really looking forward to making a positive impact and to help the club achieve success in the Westfield W-League this season”.

She therefore talked up her dream of achieving league success with the club not underestimating how tough it could be for the team.

“We have a very strong team and we will all be focused on getting to the finals and then hopefully going all the way to win the league.”

The former Kvarnsvedens IK midfielder has had stints in Nigeria, Hungary and Serbia.

Elizabeth Addo is expected to join the Black Queens in camp next week as they intensify their preparations ahead of the 2018 Africa Women’s Championship to be staged in Ghana next month.Four other foreign based players are also in line to join the team at their Prampram base next week.
