Gloria Akuffo, Attorney General and Minister for Justice, has said she is yet to receive sufficient evidence from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to prosecute persons captured in the Number 12 video commissioned by Anas Aremeyaw Anas and Tiger Eye PI.

“I have not received any docket for prosecution. It would be recalled that when the issues started, the CID started a probe. The probe is still on going and when they forward anything to me, I will look at it,’’ she said on Rainbow Radio in Accra on Thursday.

She explained that until her office is furnished with adequate evidence on the matter “there is nothing she could do” as far as prosecution is concerned.

“You need evidence to proceed to court and at the moment I have not received anything from the investigators,” she insisted.

Anas in an undercover investigation, is reported to have bribed at least 70 Ghanaian match officials, including referees and match commissioners to influence games in the Ghana Premier League.

Notable persons who were caught on tape receiving huge sums of money included former President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi.

As a result, he resigned his positions as Executive Member of FIFA, CAF and president of the GFA. Football in the country has since been suspended.

Three months down the line, the individuals caught on the video are yet to be charged officially sparking public uproar and agitations.

Government’s decision to liquidate the GFA has incurred the wrath of the world football governing body, FIFA who threatened to ban Ghana if the liquidation processes are not halted.

The Attorney General has since discontinued the case as FIFA is set to announce a normalization committee to manage the affairs of the GFA until March next year.
