Ghana Premier League champions Aduana Stars cannot qualify to the quarter-final of the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup after losing 0-2 at home to ASEC Mimosas.

Two first-half goals from the Ivorian side at the Agyeman Badu Park were enough to lift the visitors from the bottom of Group A.

The result rather plunged the Ghanaian side to the bottom.

It also gives the Ivorians a home-and-away victory over the Dormaa-based side, who have not fared particularly well in this year’s competition.

They changed their coach midway into their campaign and had just picked one win prior to Sunday’s encounter.

They have a total of four points, though, and will travel to Morocco to play Raja Casablanca in their final group game.

That match is scheduled for Wednesday, 29 August.
