JE Sarpong defends Yusif Basigi following World Cup exit

JE Sarpong believes Yussif Basigi cannot be blamed for Ghana's poor performance at the World Cup JE Sarpong believes Yussif Basigi cannot be blamed for Ghana's poor performance at the World Cup

Veteran coach, JE Sarpong has insisted that Yussif Basigi cannot be blamed for the poor performance of the Black Princesses at the ongoing U-20 Women’s FIFA World Cup.

The Black Princesses were eliminated from the world cup after losing two and winning one of their three games in the group, conceding eight goals and scoring just two in the process.

But the former Ebusua Dwarfs coach insists the coach cannot be blamed for the team’s poor show at the world Cup because they had a poor preparation before the main tournament.

“Coach Yussif Basigi cannot be blamed for the poor performance of the Black Princesses in France.

“The team had bad preparation before the tournament” J.E Sarpong told Aseda FM in an interview.

“The team died in Ghana before leaving for France” he added.
