Former Dreams FC captain Leonard Owusu made his competitive debut for FC Ashdod in a goalless draw with Hapoel Raanana in the Israeli League Cup.

The enterprising midfielder joined the Israeli side from Ghana Premier League side Dreams FC earlier this month on a one-year loan deal with the option of a three-year permanent deal after.

The 21-year-old played an instrumental role in the Dawu-based side's return to the top flight of Ghana football as he led the team to qualify twice to the Premier League.

He also led Dreams FC to win the 2018 offseason GHALCA G8 tournament after scoring the winning goal against Accra Hearts of Oak at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Leonard Owusu played 10 games for Dreams FC in the current season, scoring 5 goals with 5 assists.
