Ghana’s U20 women’s team coach Yusif Basigi says his immediate target at the upcoming World Cup is to qualify his team out of the group phase.

The Black Princesses have been drawn in a tough group along with the New Zealand, Netherlands and tournament hosts, France.

Ghana will be making a fifth straight appearance at the finals and coach Basigi is anticipating a tough campaign.

He told fifa.com “the objective is to make it through the group.”

“As the tournament hosts, France will have the support of their fans.

“It’s going to be a tough match and we’ll try to prepare for it in the best possible way. Our objective is still to get out of the group though.” he said.

Ghana will be involved in the opening fixture of the tournament against France on August 5.
