Member of Parliament for Effia Constituency, Hon. Joseph Cudjoe has made a huge revelation that Abubakar Lawal, who was part of the 2017 U-17 squad was dropped on corruption basis.

Lawal was part of the unfortunate names that were dropped from the squad prior to the World Cup in India despite playing part in the African Under 17 Championship.

Speaking at the sod cutting ceremony at the Effia Kuma Police Park, the deputy Energy Minister revealed that Abubakar Lawal who he believes was a real talent was dropped, because of corruption act prior to the FIFA U-17 World Cup at India.

“We had one Lawal who was part of the 2017 U-17 squad at Gabon for the U-17 Youth Championship tournament, but was dropped prior to the World Cup in India, he was dropped and I know it was on corruption grounds because he is a real talent. Anas has brought a lot of things” Hon. Joseph Cudjoe Mensah revealed.

The Black Starlets were knocked out of the competition’s quarter-final stage by Mali.
