Ghana Captain Asamoah Gyan has waded into the conversation relating to the tarnished image of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and its President Kwesi Nyantakyi.

At a time Ghanaians are hurt about the degree of corruption in the local league as referees were caught on tape in the exposé of ace journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas taking bribes to influence the outcome of games, Gyan called for support for the Black Stars.

But Ghana’s top scorer of all times’ suggestion on Twitter on Thursday that Ghanaians should show some support for the Black Stars in their friendly with Iceland later in the day did not go down well with followers.

The reaction to Gyan’s tweet provided further evidence of the level anger towards the Ghana Football Association and its members.

Captured below are some of the tweets in response to Gyan’s call for Black Stars support as they take on Iceland at 8pm Ghana time.
