Karela United FC constitutes board of trustees as club target long stay in Ghana Premier League

Karela United FC has appointed members onto the club's Board of Trustees who will set policies and also be liable to the finance of the newly promoted Ghana Premier League side.

This was done at the Karela Hotel and Resort in Beyin in a mini ceremony to inaugrate the formation of the Board of Trustees on Saturday.

Present at the ceremony were the President of Nzema Manle Traditional Council, Awulae Angama Tu Agyan II, Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. Francis Oti Akenten and former Minister of Energy and Petroleum and Member of Parliament of the Ellembele Constituency Hon. Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah.

The Chief Executive Officer, Senator David Saigha Cobbina Brigidi, chronicled a brief history of the Club when a three-man team led by Coach Isaac Paha, Lawrence Kwakye Saforo Cudjoe and himself took over the operations of Sekondi based Metropolitan Sporting Club and re-christened it Karela United Football Club on October 1,2014

The CEO reiterated that in spite of all the insurmountable challenges that confronted the newly acquired club, it survived relegation and went on to place fifth the subsequent season.

The CEO expressed his utmost gratitude to coaches Stephen Frimpong Manso and Johnson Paa Smith for making the Crosby Awuah Memorial [CAM] Park a Fortress after relocating the Club from the Western Regional Capital to Aiyinase, the Commercial Centre of Ellembelle District.

The CEO urged the BOT Members to be very proactive in Major Decisions of the Club including Recruitments on the Main Actors of the Game - the Technical Crew and the Playing Body.

He expressed optimism in the Membership of the Board of Trustees and added that with "Commitment, Passion & Unity", Karela United will survive the whims and caprices of the 2017/18 Zylofon Cash Ghana Premier League.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Awulae Angama Tu Agyan II who doubles as the President of the Nzema Manle Council called for total devotion and responsibilities from the Board Members.

He also charged Members to lobby the corporate bodies in Ellembelle to support the finances of the Club in order to ensure the Club performs creditably well to meet the standards of all stakeholders.
