Aduana Stars defender Paul Aidoo is upbeat about their chances of making it to the quarter final stage of the CAF Confederation Cup despite their disappointing start to the campaign.

The Fire Boys are yet to pick a win in this year's competition after two games following their 1-0 loss to Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas and a goalless draw with Raja Casablanca at the Dormaa Nana Agyemang Badu II Park on Wednesday.

Despite their torrid start to the campaign, silky guardsman Paul Aidoo insists they will win their remaining matches to book their ticket to the quarter final stage.

"We lost in Abidjan not because we were outplayed but because our opponents utilized the chance that came their way."

“Our game against Raja Casablanca was no different from Asec’s. At this level and in such big games, the slightest of mistakes and lapses in concentration could change the outcome of a game and that was exactly what happened to us,” Aidoo said.

“They took their chances and I also believe we have the wherewithal to dig our heels in and start recording victories to enhance our chances of advancing to the next stage."

“It is not beyond our reach. We will surely qualify.” He chirpily told 442gh.com

He added, “The burden is huge. I can’t do it alone. It’s a collective effort and we will do our best to make it happen.”

Aduana Stars drew 3-3 at home with Raja Casablanca in their second game of the competition.
