LIVE UPDATE: Ghana Premier League (Week 9)

Ghana Premier League Ghana Premier League

Hello, and welcome to matchday 9 of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League, this afternoon we have great games to expect.

Hearts of Oak will look to bounce back to winning ways when they host Bechem United at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi. The Phobians have endured a miserable last seven days having lost in quick succession to Elmina Sharks and Karela United. The Phobians have dropped out of the top four all the way down to ninth on the Ghana Premier League table.

There will be more pressure on the Rainbow club to deliver rather than their opponents. The Bechem-based side are a point above the Phobians and could further pull clear of the Accra giants should they manage to stage an upset.

Asante Kotoko are set for a tough test when they travel to Wa to lock horns with Wa All Stars at the Abdul Malik Jabir Park. The Porcupine Warriors started the season dreaming of another title, but have seen that ambition given a heavy shove after just eight rounds of matches. A second win for Wa All Stars can see them rise above the relegation zone.

Eleven Wonders will also host SC Medeama in Techiman. The league debutantes have only won and drawn two games, managing four wins out of eight games. Medeama come into this game as the best side to carry the day but the ‘Yellow and Mauves’ have a mountain to climb in front of tough opposing supporters.

At the Dawu park, Dreams FC will lock horns with defending champions Aduana Stars. The Ogya Boys have not played enough games this season in the GHPL due to their participation in the CAF Confederation Cup where they’ve been able to progress to the next. Aduana have played 4 games and are in the relegation zone although they’ve lost only one game and won twice, dew one in the process.

Dreams FC desperately need a win today if they really want to be title contenders for the GHPL especially after Ashantigold extended their lead at the top after a win over Inter Allies on Saturday.

Other games to expect,

Ebusua Dwarfs v WAFA
Karela v Elmina Sharks
Berekum Chelsea v Liberty (Late kickoff)
