Medeama coach ‘disappointed but not worried’ after Bechem setback

Medeama coach Samuel Boadu does not want to single out individuals for their defeat to Bechem United in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

Seth Sowah and Emmanuel Owusu Boakye struck to seal a 2-0 home win for the Hunters in the matchday two fixture at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.

The Yellow and Mauves, who registered a 1-0 triumph over new boys Karela FC in week one, sit eighth on the table.

"Obviously, I'm disappointed with the defeat. No coach will be happy with that. But we'll go back and correct our mistakes," Boadu said, as reported by the club’s official website.

"It's not the time to blame anybody. We take collective responsibility for our defeat.

"I won't blame my players.”

For many, Bechem simply came into the game more determined following their 3-0 opening day drubbing at the hands of Inter Allies.

Boadu agrees: “We played a side which had suffered a heavy defeat in their opening game and obviously, they wanted to win.

"They had their chances and they took it. We should have killed the game in the first half, but we missed those chances. This is football. Today you miss chances, tomorrow you will score.

"I am disappointed but not worried. We have to go back and prepare for our next game at home."

Medeama have another tough test on Wednesday as they play at home to giants Asante Kotoko at the T&A Park, Tarkwa.
