Bankroller of Wa All Stars Kwesi Nyantakyi has revealed that he nearly went bankrupt after his outfit's participation in the CAF Champions League last season.

All Stars clinched the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League title but were eliminated at the first stage of the preliminary round by Libyan side Al Hilal.

And the club's head, Kwesi Nyantakyi, who doubles as the president of the Ghana Football Association, disclosed that he invested a bumper money into the Africa campaign which almost left him with a dry pocket.

“Playing in Africa is very difficult, it comes at a huge cost,” he spoke to the media.

“I almost went bankrupt when my team WA All Stars was playing in the CAF Champions League."

“Just one trip alone will cost you thousands of dollars, and so it is important for government and the FA to come to the aid of Clubs in Africa."

“In many countries, the government supports Clubs participating in Africa.”

The Ghana FA supported Aduana Stars with $30,000 for their participation in Africa.
