Former deputy Sports Minister Joseph Yamin has laughed off Isaac Asiamah’s claim of his administration inheriting a debt of ¢51 million.

At last Tuesday’s meet-the-press with the Sports Minister, Hon. Isaac Asiamah, indicated there was no money in the coffers of the Ministry when he took over from Nii Lante Vanderpuje as Sports Minister after the change of government.

But the Minister's claim did not go down well with Yamin, who asked him to expatiate his statement to the public again.

“Governance is a process, I expect Hon Isaac Asiamah to know this. If he is able to tell us how much debt he inherited, he should do well to also tell us how much he added to the debt,” Hon. Yamin told Happy FM.

“Hon. Asiamah should come back and explain his statement again.”

"I would have pardoned Hon. Pius Hadzide if he made that statement because he is green, unlike Asiamah.”

“Was Hon Isaac Asiamah making these statements at gunpoint?

Yamin was asked of his opinion on the performance of the Hon. Minister and if he should be given more time in the role.

"Even though Hon Isaac Asiamah is not performing, I think we should give him some time. He shouldn’t be reshuffled yet.”
