Management members of division one side Proud United are saying they will not shift their home matches on Sunday to any other day as Accra Hearts of Oak have decided to adopt the Swedru Sports Stadium as their home venue for the 2017/18 season.

According to officials of Proud United they have upgraded the Swedru Sports Stadium to meet the club licensing board and have spent over GH 50,000 on the venue.

“We (Proud Utd) are the mother home team at the Swedru Sports Stadium even though Hearts of Oak have considered Swedru as their home match venue for the upcoming 2017/18 Ghana Premier league. We will not accept to play our home matches on Fridays nor Saturdays but will play on Sundays because we spent close GH50,000 to renovate the abandoned Swedru Stadium.

We will only accept to play on Sundays”, owner for Proud United Jojo Duncan told the media.

An official of the club told Sportsnetghana.com that Proud United is a new club and are now growing their fanbase.

“We are able to get the supporters to watch our games on Sundays which helps us to get some revenue. We will not compromise and allow Hearts to play on Sundays because we will be loosing if that should happen”.
