International Boxing Organization (IBO), lightweight World Champion, Emmanuel 'Game Boy' Tagoe has paid a courtesy call on the Ga Mantse, His Royal Majesty, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II at the Stool House in Abola.

The visit was to present his IBO world title, which he recently defended, by beating Argentine Fernando Suacedo to the overlord of the Ga State.

Tagoe, who is affectionately called 'Gameboy' for his antics in the ring, defeated Argentina's Fernando David Saucedo in a controversial 10th round Technical Knockout (TKO), to defend his International Boxing Organisation (IBO) Lightweight in front of his countrymen at the Bukom Boxing Arena last month.

Tagoe’s title defense and victory over Saucedo means he is still the only Ghanaian boxer with a world title at the moment.

Presenting his title to the Ga Mantse, his Manager Mr. Sammy Anim Addo said, they have a lot of faith and confidence in their boxer and are determined to hoist him and his style of fighting to the world.

Former Black Stars striker, Baffour Gyan and senior brother to Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan who accompanied Game Boy to the chief’s palace spoke passionately about lifting the image of boxing to the highest level for Ghanaians.

“Baby Jet and all members of his team will do all they can to ensure that Ghana gets more laurels in the sports industry”, he remarked.

Baffour Gyan thanked the Ga Mantse HRM King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II for awarding ‘Game Boy’ with a crystal plaque and for wishing him well in all his future fights.
