The Ghana Premier League Board (PLB) have disclosed that the court injunction placed by Accra Great Olympics has annulled the launch and start of the Ghana Premier League 2018/19 Season.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) proposed the launch of the league on Monday February 5, 2018 but they were served with a court injunction filed by relegated Accra Great Olympics in protest of Bechem United fielding an unqualified player against them last season and demanded three points to be awarded to them as stated in the General Regulation of the GFA.

Following the injunction placed on the start of the League, officials of the Premier League Board held an emergency meeting on Monday evening and concluded the planned launch should be terminated.

Addressing media men who were present at the event, Communications Director of the PLB, Tamimu Issah said the GFA and PLB have agreed to withhold the commencement of the league in respect to court’s ruling and will not hesitate to communicate the new date to the general public.
