The Ministry of Youth and Sports has revealed plans to renovate the Accra Sports Stadium in the coming weeks, therefore prompting clubs that have scheduled to use the facility in next season’s Ghana Premier League as home ground to reconsider their options.

Hearts of Oak have long occupied the stadium in the GPL and have also been joined by Great Olympics in the seasons the latter have been promoted to the top flight.

Recent reports in the media claimed Inter Allies had also been given permission to use the Accra Sports Stadium as a home ground in the 2017/2018 season.

Allies had occupied the El-Wak Sports stadium last season but sought a new home ground for the 2017/2018 campaign, although the announcement by the Ministry to begin renovation at the national facility will now force Allies and Hearts of Oak to find new home grounds ahead of the new season.

TV3 Sports gathers Allies may return to the Tema Sports Stadium as their home grounds after spending three seasons there between 2013 and 2016.
