A five day Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) and Ghana Boxing Federation -GBF Coaches Training Programme was successfully held at the Media Center of the Accra Sports stadium.

The program which forms part of a series of training workshops by the Governing bodies of the discipline conducted by Coach Ofori Asare, was highly patronised by stakeholders in the boxing fraternity. Attendance for Day Two shot up to 70 participants as against 40 people recorded on the first day.

The highlights of the workshop included discussions of new AIBA rules and regulations and the role of specific players in the sports (i.e. cutman, referee and judges, coach, other cornermen, supervisors). There were also discussions on managing one's boxer, actions aimed at protecting one's Boxer such as effective Bandaging and use of Cavilon cream. An interaction with participants revealed how impressed they were with the Program especially the use of visuals which made it easier to understand.

Some of the course participants advised that there should be a publication based on the course from which there can be regular reference by participants and interested parties.

The third day saw the participants engaged in practical sessions for the trainers to feel the sport.
