Vice President of the Ghana Football Association George Afriyie says the FA has only themselves to blame for Ghana’s failure to qualify for the FIFA World Cup for the first time in four consecutive outings.

Afriyie who also doubles as the Chairman of the Black Stars management committee said he does not no believe the rift between the Sports Ministry and the Football association was the issue.

”Whatever the situation is between the GFA and the MOYS we have always been able to qualify for the World Cup but this time we couldn't and the FA takes responsibility for that”

Afriyie insists the GFA should be blamed for all things that went wrong in Ghana Football last year and gave them a 5 out of 10 performance rating in 2017.

He however bemoaned that he sometimes feels the FA does not receive the necessary support from Government in order to properly develop football in Ghana although they have packaged themselves well.

Afriyie urged that moving forward the GFA will pay critical attention to development of Juvenile football because he believes it is the core of our problems.
