Kotoko Host Satellites Tomorrow

Fresh from their 2-0 conquest of Hearts of Oak, the Black Satellites take on Asante Kotoko at the Kumasi Stadium tomorrow in another warm-up towards their international campaign.

The game will be the penultimate trial for the national U-20 side, which begins the qualifiers for the African championship with a game against Gabon in two weeks time.

The Satellites will round up their preparations for the Gabon game with an international friendly against Togolese club side Agaza in Lome on Sunday.

In over two months of camping, Coach Oti Akenten?s side has battled Berekum Arsenals, Tano Bofoakwa, Power FC, Aduana Stars and lately Hearts in preparations for Gabon, while the champion club will offer the national side its latest test.

Featuring Michael Helegbe, Felix Baffoe, Prince Tagoe, Joseph Ababio among others, the Satellites appear set to overturn the recent failures of the team.

In fact, since Ghana achieved a quarter-final berth at the World Youth championship in Nigeria, which followed the success story of Ghana ?99, the nation has failed to enter the contention for the world crown. Two years ago, the Satellites tumbled at the group stages of the African championship in Burkina Faso.
