The Ghana Under 17 Coach, Paa Kwesi Fabin, upon their arrival from the FIFA U-17 World Cup has commended his team for a good job done in India. The Black Starlets were shown the exit from the competition after losing 2-1 to Mali in the quarter-final of the competition.

Starlets led their group and beat their African counterparts Niger in the Round of 16. Eric Ayiah had 4 goals to his credit with young goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim conceding only a goal at the group stage.

Though the Starlets’ performance in the tournament was not the best, Coach Fabin believes it was superb and the team did very well. “I think my boys did very well and in some few years’ time they will be able to play for the country at the senior level.

“We want to thank Ghanaians for your support,” he added. “If wishes were horses then beggars will ride them. Our wish was to harness the trophy but unfortunately we couldn’t.”
