Black Starlets coach Paa Kwasi Fabin has apologised for failing to win this year's FIFA U17 World Cup in India.

Ghana could only manage a quarter final finish after a bright start to the championship.

The team prior to the tournament promised of bringing the trophy hone but after not been able to deliver on their promise, coach Fabin feels dejected.

“If wishes were horses otherwise beggars will ride them. My wish was to win the Cup, but unfortunately my best wasn’t enough to bring the Cup, i’m sorry to Ghanaians,” he told Accra-based Happy FM.

“During the competition key players got injured and that went against us. Against Mali my key midfielder Isaac Gyamfi couldn’t play because of injury, Bismark Owusu Terry also got injured, the two couldn’t play and that affected the team.”

He concluded, “I don’t like excuses, we gone there we wanted to win but we couldn’t win, we have lost so is either you win, lose or draw and we have lost and there is nothing i can do but to say sorry to Ghanaians.”
