Greater Accra Amateur Boxing Champinoship Finals in June

Accra, May 28, GNA - The finals of the Greater Accra Amateur Boxing Championship comes on at the Sports Hall of the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, 3rd June 2004.

The championship is being organised by the Ghana Amateur Boxing Association (GABA) with ten bouts slated for the day at exactly 4.00 p.m.

The pairings slated for the championship bouts include, Manyo Plange facing Emmanuel Addo in the light Flyweight division (48 Kilogram), Daniel Awuga against Frederick Lawson in the Flyweight division (51 Kilogram), Michael Banor verses Patrick Okine in the Bantamweight division (54 Kilogram).

In the featherweight division (57 kilogram), Yakubu Alhassan will face Samuel Kotey while Gideon Agbosu will face Ardey Olewe in the Lightweight division (60 kilogram) and Patrick Allotey fights Bastie Samir in the Lightweight division (64 kilogram) with Ayi Bruce facing Obodai Sai in the Welterweight division (69 kilogram). Atto Ritketts will come face to face with Baba Akura in the Middleweight division (75 kilogram), Abraham Mensah verses Ken Ocansey in the in the Light-Heavyweight division (81 kilogram) with Awesore Yekeni sorting it out with Leonard Sarpong in the Heavyweight division (91 kilogram).

Mr R.O. Lamptey (Jnr), Secretary-General of the GABA in a Press Release said the above named boxers are therefore requested to report for medical examinations and weigh-ins at 6.30 a.m. on the day of the tournament. 28 may 04
