Players of the Ghana senior national team, Black Stars, yesterday took training to begin preparations for their double header 2018 World Cup qualification matches against Congo in Kumasi and Brazzaville on September 1 and 5, 2017 respectively.

Regulars like Captain Asamoah Gyan and Deputy, Andre Ayew, alongside Newcastle winger, Christain Atsu, and Maritzburg goalkeeper, Richard Ofori, all took part in training at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Other players who undertook the training session under the supervision of head coach, Kwasi Appiah, included Atletico Madrid midfielder, Thomas Partey, US-based, Kwadwo Poku, Leicester City defender, Daniel Amartey, Jordan Ayew and Gideon Waja of West African Football Academy (WAFA) and Nicholas Opoku of Club Africaine in Tunisia.

American contingent of Jonathan Mensah and Harrsion Afful alongside Italy-based Afriyie Acquah and Thomas Agyepong of Nac Breda in the Dutch Eredivisie are the few players expected to join the squad in training today.
