We Have Not Yet Signed Addo -Lions

The Founder and owner of premier league side Kpando Heart of Lions, Victor Ahiakpor says his side has not signed any deals with former Hearts of Oak coach Herbert Addo, which would commit him to the club.

He described as unfounded rumours that Lions have signed on the soft-spoken coach for the up coming season. Ahiakpor however admitted that his club has approached the coach ostensibly to hire him but talks have not been concluded yet.

?He asked for space to consider the deal and is to return to us with his decision. That could be next week but we have not signed anything yet?, Ahiakpor told the Soccer Express yesterday on the phone.

He said the Lions team has been preparing feverishly in wait for the 2004 season and added that all is well with the players and their preparations.

He however would not disclose what new players have been poached into the team and said he preferred to keep that information to his chest while the team concentrates on its plans.

Lions were among the most exciting sides in the premier league last season, starting off precariously with an uncomfortable 4:1 loss to King Faisal in Kumasi in their debut premier league game but finished off brilliantly, completing the league at the 9th position while its other fellow debutants, Stay Cool Professionals failed to survive the premiership heat. The club would be participating in the Division One league after being relegated.
