The ex-Berekum Chelsea gaffer is optimistic his side can clinch double in the ongoing top-flight campaign

Asante Kotoko coach Steve Polack says he is looking forward to winning the league trophy as well as the MTN FA Cup in his first managerial role with the Kumasi-based club.

The 56-year-old is defiant about his side's title ambition in the ongoing Ghana Premier League despite their poor run of performance in the first round of the league campaign.

The vociferous tactician reckons winning honours has been his hallmark wherever he found himself and will try to inculcate a winning mentality in his charges to achieve his target.

''My personal target is to win the league and the FA Cup,'' Polack said in an interview with Kumasi-based Light FM

''I've got a winning mentality wherever I found myself. I want to inculcate this in my players as we must all harbour a winning mentality so as to uplift our confidence level for title ambition,'' he stated.

He added: ''People have been saying the league is now fifteen with regards to the number of matches played so far. But I believe we still have nineteen games including the cup finals,''

''And so I've the belief that we're still in the race judging from the remaining number of fixtures at hand. I want to be always regarded as the number one coach and not number two in terms of achieving success.''

Steve Polack will guide his side in their second round first league fixture against Tema Youth on Sunday at the Tema Stadium.
