Bright Addae Ghanaian international footballer, has backed James Kwesi Appiah to succeed in his new appoinment as Black Stars coach.

Kwasi Appiah was settled on as the coach of the Black Stars after impressing the 6-member panel that was set up to find the next Black Stars coach.

The Ascoli Picchio F.C defender says the former Kotoko star is the ideal man to replace Avram Grant, three years after he was sacked.


Dailyviewgh.com understands over 70 coaches mostly expatriates applied for the job but Kwesi Appiah was outstanding during the interview.

“I love Akwasi Appiah and I support him a 100% but I don’t know what is wrong with Ghana. Somehow we tend to believe that the foreigner the right person to coach our team,” he said.

"The FA did the right thing by appointing him. He is the right person for the job. I have absolute confidence in him.

Touching on Kwesi Appiah's salary, the ever-reliable defender called on the FA to pay him as they usually do for the foreign coaches.

He added: “If you are lucky to have such a person in your country. of course, you should pay the person as you would pay a white because its a global market as I have told you Kwasi Appiah will do a good job".

“He is performed well in Sudan so why cant he do it with the Black Stars? I fully support his come back”. Bright quip it to Daily View Gh’s Dan Kwasi Prince.

Kwasi has been given a two-year deal to qualify Ghana to the 2018 World Cup as well as win the 2019 AFCON.

Kwesi Appiah will also handle the local Black Stars.
