BIC Independence Day race fixed for Koforidua

Accra, March 5, GNA - More than 70 cyclists across the country are expected to compete in the second BIC Independence Cycling race at the Koforidua Jackson Park, this Saturday to mark Ghana's 47th independence. The race being organized by ASONE, a Non Governmental Organization sports outfit under the auspices of the Eastern Regional Cycling Association is to be sponsored by BIC Company Limited.

Mr Shabaan Mohammed of ASONE told the GNA Sports in Accra that the race will be in two sessions; the mass competition which will cover 12 kilometers and the professional to cover 60 kilometers between the Jackson Park and Nkrankang.

The seven cycling clubs from the Greater Accra Region are expected to dominate the event, which will feature familiar names like John Zormelo and Daniel Anang.

Prizes will be given to the first 10 cyclists.
