The Croatian was dismissed by the Porcupines less than four months after joining the team, with the former star unhappy with the "terrible" decision

Former Asante Kotoko management member Wilberforce Mfum has has hit out at the club's top hierarchy for sacking manager Croatian coach Zdravko Lugarusic after guiding the club to second position.

The Kumasi giants went four games without a victory under the former Gor Mahia coach including a defeat to fierce rivals Hearts of Oak.

“The decision to sack the Zdravko Lugarusic was a bad decision. You don’t sack a coach at the middle of a season. They could have even waited for the first round of the season to end,” Mfum Ghana TV.

“Both Kotoko and Hearts suffer from such bad management decisions. They sack coaches at odd time which is bad.

“They must look at the players rather. The players are not up to the standard of Kotoko. The coach did nothing to be sacked. The players must be examined and better additions must be made,” he added.

Following the departure of Lugarusic, his former assistant Godwin Ablordey has been appointed as caretaker coach. However, he couldn't end the club's winless streak as they fell to Wa All Stars on Sunday, dropping to fourth place on the log with 19 points.
