Meteors recalled to camp

Professor Marriano Barreto , head coach of the national under-23 soccer team, the Black Meteors has invited 22 players for camping ahead of their Olympic Qualifying match against their counterparts from South Africa in an assignment slated for Pretoria South Africa next weekend.

The players expected to plunge to camping on Wednesday are King Faisal's Kwadjo Poku, Eric Gawu, Abubakar Yahuza, Abbass Inusah, Illiasu Alhaassan and Price Antwi.

The players invited from Kumasi Asante Kotoko include Charles Taylor (pictured), skipper Yusif Chipsah, George Owu, Edmund Owusu Ansah and Stephen Oduro.

Shaibu Yakubu, Nasir Lamine, and Isaac Amoako come from Obuasi Goldfields while Saliu Muntari and Ricky Essuman will be coming from Sekondi Hasacaas respectively.

Mustapha Essuman and Sulemana Abubakar are from Liberty Professional Power FC.

The two other players invited are Razak Ibrahim and Patrick Villars while Hearts of Oaks' Daniel Coleman and Bernard Don Bortey are to join the team upon their arrival from their CAF Champions league duel against Stade Malien slated for Mali this weekend.

The Meteors are scheduled to play as guest of the Amagluglu lads of South Africa at Pretoria on Saturday March 13 and are expected to depart to South Africa on Wednesday March 10.
