We’ll engage GAA over Bissah’s suspension - GOC

The President of Ghana Olympics Committee(GOC), Ben Nunoo Mensah, has promised to plead on behalf of suspended female athlete Martha Bissah by engaging the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) in the coming days.

The Youth Olympics gold medalist fell out with the Athletics Association, leading to her ban in June last year as a result of gross indiscipline.

However, Nunoo Mensah is confident his engagement with the Athletics Association will find an amicable solution between the youngster and her national body.

“I will have some discussions with Athletics Association’s top hierarchy and solicit for their advice. Whatever the problems are, we have to find an amicable solution to it and make sure the ban is lifted if possible”, he told Hot FM

“Martha is a great prospect for the nation because she has a bright future and we must help her to realise it”, he added.

Meanwhile, Nunoo Mensah is expected to meet every federation President to brainstorm over issues bothering them in order to improve all sporting disciplines in the country.
