Obodai Sai emerged as the victor in the International middleweight contest against Tanzania’s Selemani Saidi at the Azumah Nelson Fight Night on Saturday at the Bukom Boxing Arena, Accra.

Selemani Saidi became nervous when he slipped and fell in the ring as he was being introduced by the MC and seems to have been affected by the screams from the home fans.

Obodai ‘ the Miracle’ Sai on the other hand did not brittle a bit as he fought in front of his home fans who were hugely represented at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

Obodai was aggressive and timely in his punches and as a result Tanzanian’s hopeful Selemani went on his knees after he powerful blow stormed his face, but was quick to respond to referee Michael Neequaye’s call.

Seconds after Saidi recuperated his fitness Sai pounced on him with four superb punches and this time ‘the tall man’ Saidi could not get on his knees which contracted referee Neequaye to call it quits for the Tanzanian in the third round.

Obodai Sai an orthodox boxer has now acquired 35 fights won 31, lost 2 and drew 2 whilst his opponent Selemani Saidi attained 29 fights, won 18, lost 9 and drew 2.

Speaking after the fight Obodai Sai said “In two months’ time I will fight a WBO and IBF Inter-continental fight, but Ghanaians have to pray for me and small small I will bring the world title to Ghana.”

The night was attended by the organizer Azumah Nelson African boxing hall of fame, DK. Poison Ghana’s 1st World Boxing Champion, Hon. Alfred Oko Vanderpuye former Mayor of Accra now the MP for Ablekuma South and a host of others.
