Former Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) chairman, Mr. J.Y Appiah says Ghana winning the Africa Cup of Nations is unnecessary.
The Black Stars of Ghana have failed to clinch a continental title for the past 35 years.

According to the astute football administrator, Ghana's main reason to go to every Africa Cup of Nations is to make friends.

He insisted that Ghanaians should not tasked the senior national team to win the AFCON title.

"Winning the Africa Cup of Nations title is unnecessary, so we shouldn't always task the players to go for it" he said in an interview.

"We only go to AFCON to make friends, Yes friends between nations"

Ghana placed fourth in the last edition of the Africa Cup of Nations which was held in Gabon.
