StarTimes are Happy to sign a deal with the GFA – Mr. Quaye Arday

Director at StarTimes TV, Mr. Ernest Quaye Arday has said that the worldwide technology company is very happy to have brokered a deal with the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

The pay TV service operator (StarTimes) serving more than eight million subscribers in Africa signed a media rights partnership agreement with the GFA in November, 2016.

As part of the ten (10) year deal, StarTimes will pay $17,950,000 to the Ghana Football Association, provide ten artificial pitches, as well as a fully equipped OB van to aid production.

However, Mr. Ernest Quaye Arday speaking in an interview on Monday, December 19, 2016 explained that his outfit embraced the deal with joy.

“StarTimes are particularly happy to have signed a deal with the GFA to partner them to promote football and to use football as a popular sport to Ghanaians and people beyond the shores of Ghana,” he said.

Mr. Quaye Arday also touched on the importance of television/media to the promotion of football.

“The relationship between football and television cannot be over emphasized for a simple reason that as an event, it always happens at a particular place (stadium) but through the magic of television football get to various parts of the world,” Mr. Quaye Arday added.

With the vision to becoming an influential media group, StarTimes is listed among China’s top 100 technology and science innovation-oriented enterprise, Forbes top 20 China’s most potential enterprise. StarTimes is the only authorized private enterprise by the Ministry of Commerce in China to undertake foreign projects in the radio and TV industry.
