Nigeria move to beat Ghana for Lazio's Ola

The Nigerian Football Association will again commence battle to lure highly-rated Lazio defender Daniel Ola to play for the country's U23 team.

Ola joined Lazio from Chievo Verona last season and Nigeria U23 coach Musa Abdlulahi says he is an integral part of his plans and will ensure that Nigeria caps him before another nation comes knocking.

It is not clear what Ola's real country of origin is. Some reports indicate that he is Ghanaian, however a source at the NFA says Ola is a Nigerian and played in Ghana on his way to Italy.

Ola is yet to decide if he will play for Nigeria, Ghana or Italy.

Nigeria will play Tunisia in Bauchi on December 21 as part of their Athens Olympic qualifying campaign.
