Babolat Open Tennis scheduled for September 21

This year’s Babolat Doubles Tennis Open Championship will commence at the GHACEM Tennis Club House at Tema on Wednesday, September 21 and end on Saturday, September 24.

Mr Ismailia Lamptey, the Tournament Coordinator, who disclosed this to the GNA Sports at Tema on Monday, said competition which is on the theme ‘Love All, Tennis for Peaceful Elections’ is part of efforts to promote peaceful 2016 elections, in line with the spirit of tennis and sportsmanship.

He said Ghacem, Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), Meridian and Sakumono Tennis Clubs are taking part in the competition, which was in its fourth year.

Mr Lamptey, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Baboosport.com, said exceptional display of skills and experience as several experienced players eagerly prepare to participate in the competition.

He said players would battle for honours in four events; Professional Men, Social One Men (Advanced Social Players), Social two Men’s (Intermediate and above 45 players) and Mixed Doubles (Social only)

Mr Lamptey said registration forms can be obtained from Baboo Sports Shop at Tema Community 11, Shell and GHACEM Tennis Club House for GH?70.00.
