Borbor Mfantse wins

Mankessim (C/R) Nov.18, GNA- Mankessim Borbor Mfantse, inflicted a 2-1 defeat on Moree Great Astons in their Central Region second division league match played at the Cape Coast sports stadium on Sunday to climax the first round of the league.

From the blast of the whistle, Astons started strongly and scored the opener through centre forward, Daniel Otoo in the 30th minute, when he raced through their opponents defence after collecting a pass from inside right John Mensah.

Borbor Mfantse, however took absolute control of the match from the 35th minute and dictated the pace until the 40th minute when outside right Ibrahim Rahim levelled up with a header.

The second half, saw both teams struggling hard to carry the day and when all things pointed to a draw game, Borbors' right half back, Isaac Abban, outwitted two Aston defenders in a row to score the match winner with a sizzling shot in the 72nd minute.
