BA United welcome FA investigation

The Communications Director of Division One campaigners, B/A United, Asamoah Emmanuel, has admitted they are open to investigation by the Division One League (DOL) board in a bribery allegation case.

The second tier of Ghana football, as has been the norm, is once again entangled in match-fixing allegations as the Brong Ahafo-based club is accused of paying Bolga Stars to play a fixed match.

And this, the chairman of the DOL, Owoahene has said, plus other football related issues has influenced their decision to indefinitely halt games in Zone 1B.

Asamoah, in a radio interview, denied the match-fixing allegations but added the club will avail itself should they be called upon to help in investigation.

“The board and management of BA United have held a crunch meeting in relation to the allegations but we have declined to comment on it for now.

“It’s prudent for the DOL board to halt the games. Though it will affect us financially, it will help clear any doubts as it will be better for our game.

“We’re seeking legal counsel as well, as we don’t appreciate our name being dragged into the mud,” he added.
