Essien welcomes David Luiz back to Chelsea

Chelsea legend Michael Essien has welcomed David Luiz back to the club after the Brazilian was captured on transfer deadline day.

Essien posted a picture of himself and the centre back on Instragram

He wrote wrote: "welcome back geezer".

Luiz came back to his former side on a £30m move from Paris Saint-Germain after Chelsea failed to land Kalidou Koulibaly to Stamford Bridge.

Essien played seven seasons with Chelsea before leaving for Real Madrid on loan and then to AC Milan on permanent deal.

The 29-year-old later joined Panathinaikos but had to terminate his contract at the end of the season.
