Emmanuel Ampeah insists Michael Osei must win the league

Former Asante Kotoko center-back Emmanuel Ampeah has tasked interim coach of the Michael Osei to win the Ghana Premier League after picking up from their early slump in the season.

The former Black Stars defender insists it will be a mistake if Michael Osei says winning the league isn't the ultimate goal of Asante Kotoko this season.

"If Michael Osei says the Premier League isn't their prime target then it's a mistake because it's the aim of every club to win the league before the season starts,” Ampeah said.

“Asante Kotoko are always tipped to win the league whenever a season begins. Asante Kotoko aren't expected to finish middle or bottom in a league.

“He should make people aware Asante Kotoko are playing the league to win it.”

"After the first round if Michael Osei indicates winning the league isn't his major target because Asante Kotoko began the season on a bad note and picked up lately then it's a mistake.

“Being able to pick the pieces lately is why we are expecting the team to triumph in the league".

Asante Kotoko lie 3rd on the league ladder after first half of the season.

They host Bechem United on Sunday in the quarter final of the MTN FA Cup.
